Rosecreek Technologies Inc.'s (RTI) was incorporated in 1993 as a successor to a consulting/specialty products business created in the mid 1980's by Dr. Klaus Tomantschger, who has over 35 years experience in commercial processes, product development, design and production in many areas of chemical and electrochemical engineering. RTI offers science, engineering and marketing know-how in alkaline zinc and manganese-dioxide battery technologies, metal-air battery and fuel-cell technologies, lead-acid battery technologies, electric vehicles, hydrogen generation via electrolysis, electrochemistry, electrodeposition of nanocrystalline materials and related technologies. RTI provides technical services, intellectual-property and licensing services on chemical and electrochemical technologies.

RTI owns the intellectual property related to advanced current collectors for use in electrochemical cells. RTI also provides state-of-the-art rechargeable alkaline manganese dioxide - zinc cell (RAM) technology, as taught in, e.g., U.S. 5,424,145.  RTI's approach is to collaborate directly with primary alkaline manganese dioxide - zinc cell (PAM) producers, adopting their own PAM cell designs and assembly lines and converting them to RAM production.

RTI supplies gas diffusion electrodes, high surface area catalysts, nano-powders and other advanced materials, various test cells, as well as electronic instrumentation. RTI has dealt with various aspects of water electrolysis, water treatment and sanitation technologies including advanced algaecides.

RTI’s president Klaus Tomantschger spearheaded the development of rechargeable alkaline consumer RAM batteries commercialized under a license agreement by Rayovac Corp. in 1993 and Pure Energy Ltd. in 1995. He participated in Waterpik’s effort to develop the Aquia® ozonator released in 2001 as “benign sanitizer” by spearheading the development of the ozone electrode manufacturing process and the establishment of the production line for ozonator electrodes. More recently, as senior executive, he participated in applying electrochemical nanotechnologies to the sporting goods industry (Head’s “Metallix” tennis racquets - 2006, True Temper Sport’s “Epic” golf shafts - 2007), US DOD Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV 2015), and handheld devices (Amazon's Oasis(R) 2017).

Klaus Tomantschger is a results-oriented chemical engineer with 35+ years’ experience in commercial process and product development, design and production, in the areas of chemical and electrochemical engineering, as well as materials and corrosion research documented in over 75 U.S. and countless international patents, as well as numerous publications. Specific application areas include rechargeable alkaline batteries, automotive lead-acid batteries, battery test instrumentation, high-speed manufacturing equipment, electrochemical sensors, gas diffusion electrodes, catalysts for fuel cells and sensors, electrosynthesis of nanocrystalline metals and compounds, synthesis of advanced materials, activation of carbon materials and a number of consumer and industrial products. To date commercial sales of products developed by or in participation with Dr. Tomantschger significantly exceed $1Billion. He holds Dipl.-Ing. (M.Sc.) (1979) and Dr. Tech. (1981) degrees from the Technical University of Graz, Austria. He has held positions at Case Western Reserve University, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, the University of Toronto as well as Battery Technologies, Inc., Teck-Cominco, Ltd. and Integran Technologies Inc.

To complement and extend RTI's expertise, RTI has aligned itself with a world-wide network of scientists, engineers, equipment and material supply groups. Furthermore, RTI has established an international network of collaborations with academic institutions and industry and, depending on project’s needs, draws upon their expertise and facilities.
